We all learned about the Jewish festival of Shavuot. Shavuot celebrates the harvest and the giving of the Torah on Mt Sinai.
It is traditional to eat dairy foods on Shavuot so each class made and ate something yummy – homemade butter, pancakes and fruit, cheese twists, cheesecake and very cheesy pizza rolls. Delicious! We also made Torah scrolls, paper flowers and tried paper cutting, and acted out a small world version of the story of Moses on Mt Sinai.
